
Maggie Rivera
Event Support Specialist
Magdalena (Maggie) Rivera is an Event Support Specialist with NCTTP, where she helps plan and run the Consortium's annual symposium. She currently works as a Research, Monitoring, and Evaluation Specialist with the Marjorie Kovler Torture Treatment Center, located in Chicago, IL. Before working with the Kovler Center, Maggie worked in Chicago's family shelter system as a Community Integration Coordinator supporting Chicago's newly-arrived asylum seekers. Maggie received both her BA (Legal Studies) and MA (Sociology) from the University of Chicago in 2024. Her honors thesis project, focused on neighborhood-level responses to an emergency migrant shelter in Chicago, was recognized as a top thesis by the Stone Center of Wealth Inequality and Mobility, as well as the Pozen Center for Human Rights.
